Lt. Frank Drebin is back in a brand-new movie coming out in 2025! The movie company Paramount Pictures has told everyone that they’re making a new version of the super funny movie ‘Naked Gun,’ with Liam Neeson taking on the role of the bumbling police detective made famous by Leslie Nielsen. The film, directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Dan Gregor, Doug Man, and Schaffer, will be ready for us to watch in theaters on July 15, 2025. They’re bringing back the silly jokes and funny scenes that we all loved in the first movies.
The original ‘Naked Gun’ movies, inspired by the TV series “Police Squad!”, Leslie Nielsen played the funny police officer, Lt. Drebin, and many people loved him in this role. These movies included “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad” in 1988, “The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear” in 1991, and “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult” in 1994. Before these movies, Nielsen mostly played serious parts, so switching to funny roles was a big change for him and showed he could do different kinds of acting really well.
Frank Drebin is the funny guy in these movies. He’s not always smooth, but he’s good at catching the bad guys. He lives in Los Angeles, where he works hard as a cop. He deals with a lot of problems, but he always tries his best.
Frank also has funny moments with his girlfriend, Jane Spencer. This makes the movies even more fun to watch. In the new movie coming out, Frank has a big job. He needs to keep the Queen of England safe while she’s in Los Angeles.
People are really excited for Frank to come back in the new movie. Everyone is talking about it. Liam Neeson will play Frank this time. He’s taking over from Leslie Nielsen. With a great team making the movie, the new ‘Naked Gun’ is expected to be really fun and fresh. It’s something people are looking forward to watching in 2025.
