Browning M1919 Description
The Browning M1919 was designed by John Moses Browning during World War I as an air-cooled replacement for his water-cooled M1917. This design was so successful in trials and field testing that the design ended up being re-worked and adopted into many different roles allowing it to be mounted on Jeeps, trucks, boats and helicopters. While the original chambering was in .30-06, its long service life and impressive performance led it to be adopted by other countries which allowed it to be chambered in 7.62NATO, .303 British, 8mm Mauser, 6.5x55, 7.62x54mmR, 7.65x53 Argentine and 7.5x54mm French.Technical Data
